Who Does My Donation Support?
Meet Joe —
He comes to the UOC for food pantry staples and our Tuesday Community Dinner.
Your donation helps the nearly 50,000 homeless and low-income New Yorkers each year who, like Joe, trust the Urban Outreach Center as the place to support their journey toward self-sufficiency.
Every day, we see guests from all five boroughs. Our youngest guest is two months old. Our oldest is in his 90s. We might see college students who need a little extra help with food this month. Single parents. New immigrant families. LGBTQIA+ youth. The Urban Outreach Center serves and knows the full gamut of diversity that makes NYC great.

Or that the latest estimates place 1 in 4 New Yorkers as food-insecure?

How Is My Donation
Used?
A gift of $10,000 – Allows us to provide a month’s worth of fruit and vegetables for our food pantry.
A gift of $5,000 – Helps support two months of healthy, restaurant-quality meals at our Tuesday Night Community Dinner.
A gift of $1,000 – Allows us to provide emergency financial assistance that helps families meet unexpected expenses – and helps prevent them from becoming homeless in the first place.
A gift of $500 — Allows us to offer a table of our guests transportation support when they need it most and a mailing address so that they can stay in touch with their families and potential employers.
A gift of $100 — Allows us to help two guests experiencing homelessness to receive identification, the first step to housing and a job.

Food and Hygiene Drives
Our preferred method of receiving donations of needed in-kind items is through our Amazon Wishlist.
We also accept food and hygiene drives through YouGiveGoods.com.
We also accept limited, scheduled drop-offs of donations of nonperishable foods, and hygiene products at 1745 1st Avenue.
We only accept the following clothing items:
Coats, gloves, jeans, sleeping bags, and new underwear and socks.
