YOU CAN MAKE AN IMPACT NOW ON HOMELESSNESS IN NYC!
PROVIDING DIGNITY AND RESOURCES FOR FOOD- AND HOUSING-INSECURE NEW YORKERS IS AN ISSUE THAT CAN’T WAIT.
Even a small gift today will move forward the Urban Outreach Center’s mission of ending the hunger gap in Harlem and East Manhattan by making sure that vulnerable New Yorkers can access the healthy food, clothing necessities, and connections they need to thrive!
Who does my donation support?
Meet Jorge — who comes to the UOCNYC for clothing and our Tuesday Community Dinner.
Your donation helps the nearly 30,000 homeless and low-income New Yorkers each year who, like Jorge, trust the Urban Outreach Center as the place to support their journey toward self-sufficiency. Every day, we see guests from all five boroughs. Our youngest guest is two months old. Our oldest is in his 90s. We might see college students who need a little extra help with food this month. Single moms. New immigrant families. LGBTQIA+ youth. The Urban Outreach Center serves and knows the full gamut of diversity that makes NYC great.
HERE’S THE TRUTH:
THE NEED IS HUGE.
Did you know that on any given night there are over 60,000 people in a NYC shelter bed?
Or that the latest estimates place 1 in 5 New Yorkers as food-insecure?
EVEN A SMALL GIFT TODAY CAN MAKE A REAL IMPACT.
WHEN YOU MAKE A GIFT, YOU WILL INSTANTLY RECEIVE AN E-MAIL WITH A PROFILE OF A UOCNYC GUEST LIKE JORGE WHOSE LIFE IS BEING TRANSFORMED BY OUR PROGRAMS.
How is my donation used?
New identification and paperwork to get a guest in safe housing and back-to-work.
Essential hygiene kit supplies.
Hundreds of pairs of socks and undergarments.

Provide fresh fruits and veggies in the food pantry for one month.

Food and Clothing Drives
Our preferred method of receiving food and clothing drives is YouGiveGoods.com. These can be coordinated with Executive Director Jordan Tarwater at Jordan@UOCNYC.org.
We also accept dropped off in-kind donations of used and new clothing; nonperishable foods; and hygiene products in our temporary location (161 E 104th Street) of the Urban Outreach Center, Wednesday - Friday, 9am to 5pm.
We would be glad to provide a tax donation form.
